Hello Kitty is NOT A CAT = Childhood ruined.

     Since I was a kid I always adore Hello Kitty but not compared to my bestfriend, that is obsessed in Hello Kitty merchandise! from her lampshades in her bedroom to her favorite shirts!

then I saw her post recently,

I sat down and re-thought on this one.
As I searched and saw linked articles on Facebook, these are what I got;

    The BIG reveal happened at the Hello Kitty exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. Anthropologist Christine R. Yano was curating that time at the event in which she described the billion-dollar icon, as-ehem, a cat. But Sanrio corrected her texts telling the Los Angeles Times “I was corrected – very firmly”.

According to "Sanrio"that Hello Kitty -- the supposedly adorable feline character that adorns everything from backpacks, shirts, lunch boxes and those trinkets -- is, in fact, not a cat. I repeat NOT A CAT.

Stated by Yano, the author of "Pink Globalization: Hello Kitty's Trek Across the Pacific",

"Hello Kitty is not a cat. She's a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat. She's never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature,  She does have a pet cat of her own, however, and it's called Charmmy Kitty."

A spokesman at Sanrio's Tokyo headquarters told Kotaku:
Hello Kitty was done in the motif of a cat. It's going too far to say that Hello Kitty is not a cat. Hello Kitty is a personification of a cat."

According to the reliable sources; The specific word that the Sanrio spokesperson used to describe Hello Kitty was "gijinka" (擬人化), which means "anthropomorphization" or "personification."
Once again, to clarify, I asked the Sanrio spokesperson, "Then, it would be going too far to say that Hello Kitty was not a cat?" The spokesperson replied, "Yes, that would be going too far."
Moreover, I have been personally wondering why Hello Kitty doesn't have a mouth, while her friends has and as I figured out according to Sanrio's website, "Hello Kitty speaks from her heart. She’s Sanrio's ambassador to the world and isn't bound to any particular language." ♥

FUNFACTS:

The real name of Hello Kitty is Kitty White and she is British, her parents are George and Mary White. She has a twin sister named Mimmy/Mimmy White, is stuck in time as a third grader (even though she turns 40 this year), and lives outside of London. She has a horoscope sign, Scorpio.

If "Hello Kitty is not a cat" What's going to be next? my Melody is NOT A BUNNY, that the Little Twin Stars are NOT TWINS, that Keroppi is NOT A FROG? Seriously?!
